Music video inspiration

Here I have gathered a collective group of inspiration I have gained off of other artist's music video.

This is a gif, of the band The Neighbourhood's 'Sweater weathervideo, they have used a projector to overlay previous clips from the video onto the band, in order to carry the whole concept in a whole different way by using scenery clips to relate it to the band. For the chorus, we would like to use the projector for the band scenes.

This gif are screenshots from Tom Odell's 'I Know' video, where he shot it, in a forest, with the light cutting through the trees, it is a nice scene to have for our video.

This is from the band Years & Year's video 'Take Shelter', where they have used smoke bombs in the background, making it immediately colourful and vibrant which brings a fun atmosphere in the video, which is, exactly what I want to recreate.

Beyonce's 'XO' video consists of her going around the theme park with a group of friends, which my group want to rein-act for one of our scenes in the amusement park. We want to film scenes on the bumper cars, as well as rides.

Evidence

This is evidence for the purchasing and booking, for the products and studio. It took a huge part of the process of making the music video, as we needed both in order for it to be successful.

Screen test shoot

This is our artist, featured in our screen test shoot, where we filmed her from different angles, singing the first section of the song. Taking into account that this is just a test shoot, we will be aware of what we would actually do when filming the video, for example for her to pronounce the words properly, and with much more expression in order for the editing process to be easier. As well as the variety of shots we will be using, for example close-up shots of just her face, also mid and long shots. The screen test shoot was done in order to see how our artist would look as our main singer, and whether she was right for it- this was then tested through different angles and shots.

Organisation of props

This is the organisation of props, where we have planned what we shall include in the music video and where we are going to get them from if we need to. It is easier if we plan it beforehand so we know exactly what props we are going to include in the music video.

This is a table, showing all the props/equipment we will be going to use, and where we are going to get them from.

Risk assessment

The risk assessment was done in order to determine, if the risk we have considered is high or low, so that when we use or go to it, we are prepared; which will then help during our filming process.

Production Title: Pumpin Blood              Assessor: Kenya Mendoza

Sparklers

Crew and actors

9

Making sure that the sparklers are handled safely as it could lead to safety problems in injuring and burning the person

Stations (Liverpool Street & Canary Wharf)

Crew and actors

7

As the stations become overcrowded due to rush hour, the crew could be injured while filming these scenes due to the large amount of people where they could get squashed and trampled on. The crew should always be on a lookout that they are not in the way to prevent this from happening.

Stations (Liverpool Street & Canary Wharf)

The product (camera, equipment)

7

Making sure that the product is mounted on the tripod safely, due to the large crowds the camera may end up falling and breaking. In order to prevent this, the camera and equipment should be stored safely at all times.

Weather

Crew and actors

7

Checking the weather the day before filming, to ensure the weather is in good filming conditions

Theme Park

Crew and actors

8

Ensure that all crew and actors are safe during filming in the theme parks where it involves going on rides. To prevent any accidents, rides that are deemed too dangerous for filming should be avoided.

On location (beach scene)

Crew and actors

7

Scenes for the video include running around by the beach with a group of friends, actors could be injured due to tripping and to prevent this would ensure that the area is clear/safe enough to run around in.

Train

Crew and actors

7

While filming in the train, the actors and crew members could be injured or left behind. To prevent this, must make sure all crew and actors board the train together.

Band equipment

Crew and actors

9

Band equipment should be stored safely and should be placed in areas where it is less likely to cause any accidents. In order to do this, there must be a limited amount of people walking around while the band equipment is out to try and prevent any accidents.

Electrical wires

Crew, actors and product (lighting and camera)

9

If electrical wires are exposed, it could lead to the crew and actors tripping and causing injuries. It can also disturb filming as footage could be lost or the loss of lighting could interrupt a scene.

Mis en scene plans

         (Me and Kenya)

We made mise-en-scene plans; in order for our schedule to be organised we have planned out the locations, and what we see is going to be the outcome from each location for the music video.

Sourcing possible locations (Recce Template)

         (Samantha)

This is the Recce template for the possible locations, and what the possible issues, and how we shall overcome them; it shall help us during the process of making the music video, as we have analysed beforehand whether or not we will have any issues with the location, therefore making it easier to film.
